INGENIUM EXCELLENCE AWARDS
The INGENIUM Excellence Awards are for infrastructure projects (where "projects" is defined in the broadest sense) and entries are welcome from any organisations in NZ involved in the field of public infrastructure. For the 2008 Awards there will be 4 categories:
(a) Physical works projects under $1 million,
(b) Physical works projects over $1 million,
(c) Projects of investigations, reporting, systems, processes, etc, and
(d) Asset Management Practice.
For categories (a), (b) and (c) entries are judged mainly on the following criteria: economics, environmental, social, cultural, consultation and innovation. For category (d) entries are judged on the application of the concepts and processes in the NAMS manuals.

HYNDS PAPER OF THE YEAR
The purpose of the Hynds Paper is to encourage INGENIUM members to improve their presentation skills by presenting papers on asset management and engineering for infrastructure.
The winner of the 2008 Hynds Paper of the Year award will have the opportunity to present the winning paper at the annual conference IPWEAQ to be held in Logan, Queensland over the period 5 to 8 October 2008.
The prize includes return airfares for two (ie winner and partner) from Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch, accommodation for the period of the conference, airport transfers and delegate and partner conference registration fees.

The winner of the 2007 Hynds paper was Frank O'Boyle of Opus International Consultants Ltd, Invercargill. Frank's paper was entitled "Riverton Focal Point". Click Here to see Paper

MAUNSELL YOUNG LEADERS AWARD
The purpose of the Maunsell Young Leaders award is to develop future leadership and business “drivers” and to promote continuing education for INGENIUM members.
The winner of the Maunsell Young Leaders Award will attend the NZIM ESCO “The Discovery” Course in Christchurch. This award includes the course fee, meals and accommodation. The value of this award is in excess of $7000.

This Award is provided by Maunsell Ltd in partnership with the NZ Institute of Management (Canterbury).
Please note that this award open to INGENIUM members who are employed by infrastructural asset owners (eg Local Authorities, Transit NZ, On Track, etc). Applicants must 40 years of age or less on 31 December in the year that they apply for the award.

MAUNSELL INTERNATIONAL STUDY AWARD
The purpose of thie Maunsell International Study Award is :
· to develop closer relationships between New Zealand and our international counterparts
· to uphold and improve the quality of infrastructure management and delivery for NZ communities
· to promote continuing education for INGENIUM members
The winner of this will receive travel, accommodation and direct expenses for a study tour anywhere in the world to the value of $5000. Often the winner of this award will include attendance at an international conference in the study tour.
Please note that this award open to INGENIUM members who are employed by infrastructural asset owners (eg Local Authorities, Transit NZ, On Track, etc).
There were no entries for this award in 2007

MORRISON LOW TRAVELLING SCHOLARSHIP
The purpose of the Morrison Low Travelling Scholarship is to provide an opportunity for local government officers to research matters relating to best practice and innovation aimed at improving the governance or management of local government.
