A committee of INGENIUM, it comprises members from The NZ Transport Agency and Local Authorities. The Chairman is Gordon Hart, NZTA.
The RIMS Group goal is to ensure that best practice road asset management systems are available in New Zealand to enable the optimal targeting of road asset maintenance funds.
Refocus of the RIMS Committee
- Over recent years the Committee has been heavily focussed on the development and implementation of the dTIMS pavement predictive modelling system. This role has now been transferred to Infrastructure Decision Support Ltd (IDS Ltd).
- The RIMS Committee has reviewed its strategic plan and the needs of its key stakeholders, NZTA and local authorities in regards to roading asset management and the Committee’s role in fulfilling those needs through the provision of advice, advocacy and delivering of specific projects.
- The 2010/2011 Business Plan has been prepared and was approved by the Ingenium Board in March 2010. Nine objectives have been set focussing on the prioritisation and delivery of projects, the facilitation of a national approach to roading asset management issues, and the dissemination of information on roading matters to, and between, organisations involved in the roading industry.
